Скажите, пожалуйста ....
I get a lot of spam in Russian. Which is nifty, it means I can practice my alphabet skills. But I'm wondering if it's normal for the modern netizen, or if it's affected by having my display languages in facebook, LJ *and* Gmail set to be Russian. Though I'm not sure how anyone would know that.

So! Assuage my burning curiosity.

Checking my gmail spam inbox, 2 in 100 (just looking at the last 100). So Jai is being stalked by the crazy russian mail hackers, is my guess.

Wow, you're not Russian at all!

My spam inbox has at least 30% Russian, 20% chinese and the rest English.

I get a lot of French spam, followed closely by Portuguese, then Russian and Arabic. The majority is in English, though.

I used to get a bit, probably around 10%, but none since i turned on greylisting.

Most of the spam to vurt.net that makes it through the greylist is russian. Like, 90% of it.

But to elder-gods.net (same greylist settings) I'm getting almost no russian spam, I seem to be getting only Nigerians and dick pills.

The spam I get does seem to reflect the languages I happen to be poking at at the time. So something is grabbing my email address from somewhere. This is a trifle worrying as I specifically don't hand that one out on most websites and certainly not random "Teach yourself Etruscan in 20 weeks!" websites. Still, that's what happens.
